Exempification(page6)-"Accordingly, when mistakes happen anyway,we typically respond as if they hadn't, or as if they shouldn't have: we deny them, wax defensive about them, ignore them, downplay them, or blame it on somebody else."- She's giving examples of how people deny mistakes they make.

Description(page 10)- "We can be wrong about integrity of our money manager, the identity of a murder suspect, or the name of the shortstop for the '62 Mets; about the structure of a Hydrogen Molecule or the day of the Second Coming; about the location of our car keys or the location of weapons of mass destruction."- She is describing how we can be wrong about various things.

Definition(page 32)- "Thus, the defining features of a hypothesis is that it has the potential to be proven wrong(which is why it must be both testable and tested), and the defining features of a theory is that it hasn't been proven wrong yet." - She she is defining the characteristics of a hypothesis and theory.

My group included myself, Kaitlyn Sturm, and Dominique Maez. For our description we choose to cite the first page where she describes how great the feeling of being right is. For our definition we chose to cite pg. 27 where she defines errors as something that is dangerous and humiliating. Last but not least for our exemplification we chose how she used an interviewee as an example for how hard it is to realize and recall mistakes we have made on pg. 20.

Exemplification (example): The story of how Ross Gelbspan, a journalist, mistakes Donella Meadows to be pregnant and writes about her in an article. Kathryn explains how he makes a mistake. PG 25-26

Definition: Plato’s straightforward definition of error: “To be wrong is to believe something is true when it is false, or, conversely, to believe it is false when it is true.” PG 11

Description (figurative): “What are you smoking?” or “Are you on crack?” The author is describing how we question someone who is acting/being crazy. The person is not literally smoking or on crack. PG 36

Description: And, of course, we eat our words. These sayings differ in their origins, but the overall implication is clear: error is both extremely unappetizing and very tough to digest. If being right is succulent, being wrong runs a narrow, unhappy gamut from nauseating to worse than death."- Page 27

Definition: "In other words, erring is not only a moral problem. It is also a moral solution: an opportunity, as I said earlier, to rethink our relationship to ourselves, other people, and the world."- Page 14

Exemplification: "Take the issue of aesthetics. We all know that matters of taste are different from matters of fact- that standards of right and wrong apply to facts but not to preferences."-Page 15
