Hello All,
As we discussed in class on Wednesday, the thesis for the in-class essays must make your position clear, and it should carry with it implied (or explicit) reasons for support.
For this post, craft a thesis statement you could use if you were writing an essay in response to the following quote:
"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught."
--Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wild is saying that the things we need to know most in life are the things that can not be taught to us. I agree with Wild's statement because when we are young and are growing, no one has to teach us how to eat or how to walk, it is part of human nature. They are things that we learn on our own.
Wilde's claim is valid because everything cannot be learned from books. The majority of the time people must learn from their own mistakes.

Oscar Wilde makes a valid statement about the most important things in life can't be taught but learned through experience. However having a proper education is essential in life whether it's in a field of work or in everyday life.

Oscar Wilde's claim is true because education is important for getting far in life but learning by experience helps a person find out who they truly are and experience also makes life worth living.
Oscar Wild's statement is true because there are many things that can be taught to us, but the most valuable lessons are ones that we learn from experience.
Wilde proves a point in his quote because the best lesson learned in life is taught by experience.

Oscar Wilde claims that eventhough education is important in society; morals learned as people grow can not be taught in a classroom because the civility of society has been brought up through lessons learned, common sense, and creativity.
Wilde proves a point in his quote because the best lesson learned in life is taught by experience.

I agree with Oscar Wilde's claim because education is important in many aspects, such as economy, business, politics, etc., but there are other things in life that are not being taught to us, but we have to learn them from our experiences, and these are very essential to just life in general.

Through my lifetime, i have discovered the words of Oscar Wilde to be true. But there are many different kinds of knowlegde that can be acquired from books, also in that sense,we know that others can't tbe acquired through books.Books teach us some theoretical ways about handling situations but it doesn't provide us with any practice. Therefore, the acquiring perseverance, can't be t

Wilde's claim is credible because an education can be very beneficial in life, however, the knowledge and wisdom that is attained from beyond the books is far more precious.
Tyler Moyer
Oscar Wilde claims that yes, education is important, but there is also a lot to be learned from everyday life experiences.
Wilde's quote is very true because education is essential in our lives, but not everything is learned from reading books. The majority of the time the things that are worth knowing is often learned from our own mistakes.
Jessica Vallejos
Oscar claim is valid because the things we learn are from our experience and can not be taught. It is natural for humans to devolpe learning skills from experience. We learn from our mistakes and overcome obstacles through our experiences in life.
Dominique Maez
Oscar Wild is right, there are things in this world that can not be taught a few examples are love, forgiveness, and trust.
Miguel Orozco
Oscar Wilde states that the most valuable lessons in life cannot be taught but experienced. Books may make people smarter and knowledgable, but the most valuable lesson in life are experienced by making mistakes and risks.
Nick Rossiter
Mr. Wilde argues as noble as teaching can be it's important not to forget how valuable real world experience is, for it is a traight impossible to be taught. His claim is correct since true experience of emotional stability, problem solving and communicational skills can only be found in the everyday interactions with the real world.
Knowledge is not about absorbing memory in lecture halls. Education is a indicator of the truth; the student must learn to grab it by ones own self will. I believe Wilde is right because there is no textbook that can teach knowledge; knowledge is acquired by conscious cultivating experiences and trial and error.
-Gerald Lebrilla
Oscar Wilde's claim is precise because the most important lessons in life are taught through experience, trial and error, and life lessons. These are predicaments in which we as individuals teach ourselves about the way of life.
Olga Calderon
Oscar Wild’s claim is legitimate. Education is important but we complete this with experiences, mistakes, and everyday life.
Oscar Wilde’s quote is valid because the value of education is not about the knowledge that one has gained. It is about excelling and taking actions by going beyond the textbooks and putting what one has learned into work and practice.

Megan Thompson
Oscar Wilde's statement is right because most lessons in life are valuable, but cannot be taught through education because it is a life experience that people must go through themselves in order to learn from the situation.
Eduardo Monterrosas
Oscar wild is trying to state that education is very beneficial to everyone and that without experience , a person's knowledge would not expand leaving them vulnerable in certain situations in life. In addition, whether something may seem too difficult to learn , anything caught be taught if effort is put into it.

Oscar wilds claim that not everything can be taught in a classroom is completely true, for the fact that in life some things have more than on sensory products because you could tell anyone that poop taste like candy ,but until they actually taste poop they can't truly be taught what poop taste like.in other words teaching only gives you an idea for what you should experience ,but not what the outcome will be.
Oscar wilde's claim is vaild because an education is a good thing to have and is needed in this lifetime but a person learns through different experiences in life.

Sabrina Millard
Oscar Wilde is right because the deepest lessons are not something taught in a book.
Oscar Wild makes a clear statement about how Education is a great thing to admire but one should come to mind that something that is not worth knowing should still be taught.
"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught."
Richard Gomez!!!!!!!!
Agreeing with Wildes quote, education is important, but the most important lessons in life are not to be taught but rather learned on our own.For instance, making mistakes and experimenting rather than going by what is said, are two ways to learn what is important for life.
Oscar Wilde is correct in stating that an education is something that is very important, but more importantly it is the things that cannot be taught in a classroom, but can only be learned through experience with the real world.
Pedro S. Naveiras
Wilde's statement is true when you think about all the important things in life that are not taught through education, but through experience. I disagree with the statement as well, because there are many important things we are taught through education that can help us through our life experiences that end up teaches us so much.
Oscar Wilde's quote is rather deep and legitimate, the deepest things one can grasp from is the things one learns and goes through on their own.
Razo.
